New details have been released on how the German competent authority Bundesanstalt für Landwirtschaft und Ernährung (BLE) will perform EUDR checks.

Besides the EU Information System TRACES, there will be a separate service portal in which audited (German) companies will need to provide specific due diligence information.

Planned process of IT supported EUDR controls (EUDR IT system of the BLE)

Planned Procedure for the IT Supported EUDR Checks

  1. Selection of companies to be audited: BLE analyzes and evaluates data provided by operators and traders in the EU information system TRACES and selects companies and specific reference numbers to be audited.

  1. Postal audit notice: two-part audit order is sent by post to the selected company with access credentials for the service portal.
